The meeting of the Lincoln Township Planning Commission was called to order by Joseph Leigeb, chairperson at 6:30 p.m.

 

Roll call was taken: Joseph Leigeb, Denise Schneider, Sheila Mesler and Gary Elza were present. Susan Ensign was absent.

 

Motion by Denise Schneider with support by Sheila Mesler to accept the agenda as presented. Motion approved.

 

Motion by Gary Elza with support by Denise Schneider to accept the July 18, 2006 minutes as submitted. Motion approved.

 

Joseph Leigeb opened the meeting for public comment, there were none presented at this time.

 

Joseph Leigeb requested any comment from the commission members present, there were none presented at this time.

 

Justin Sprague of Rowe Incorporated presented changes that they are recommending be made to the Lincoln Township Zoning Ordinance as required in the 2006 Michigan Zoning Enabling Act 110. A copy of the changes were passed out to the commission members and will be filed with these minutes.

 

There were various items reviewed with Justin in the existing Zoning Ordinance as presented by Joseph Leigeb, list is attached on file with these minutes. Justin will review and at the next Planning Commission meeting make recommendations on best way to improve. Justin will also bring back additional information for clarifications on the above items.

 

Lincoln Township Fire Chief Robert Marks made a presentation to the Planning Commission regarding changes he is requesting in Ordinance No. 3, Fire and Emergency Incident Charge Ordinance. The requested change was to Section 9: Effective Date. The change is to be able to activate the ordinance earlier or to expand what can be used to activate the ordinance. The Planning Commission will review the change and send it to the township attorney when the other changes are sent for review and if allowable.

 

Joseph Leigeb requested any other items to come before the commission, there were none presented.

 

The next meeting for the Lincoln Township Planning Commission will be September 5, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Township Hall on Hope Rd.

 

Chairperson Leigeb adjourned the meeting at 7:57 p.m.
